Program Plan

In order to foster the holistic development of children encompassing their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical dimensions, we undertake various strategies and initiatives, aiming to create an environment that nurtures and supports each aspect of their growth and maturation.

To promote children’s development, we:

1

Bring Diverse Activities to Embrace Multiculturalism

Bring diverse activities that include multiculturalism in the centre, embracing the backgrounds children come from in order to reflect a wide variety of cultures, languages, life experiences and lifestyles.

2

Meet Every Child's Need

Provide and meet every child’s need by developing a flexible and stimulating curriculum where independence is encouraged and self-esteem is built.

3

Focus on Children's Interests

Focus on the children’s interests and needs instead of focusing on the theme.

4

Supplement Cultural Heritage

We value, nurture and supplement each child cultural heritage rather than supplanting.

5

Communicate with Parents

Involve and inform the parents in their children’s daily activities.

6

Engage with Children in Play

Listen, communicate and interact with children in a playful manner in order to get them engaged and involved in play.

7

Celebrate and Recognize Accomplishments

Praise, model and show pride in the children’s accomplishments.

8

Provide a Stimulating Environment

Provide a trusting and stimulating environment in which children can adapt, learn, be confident, creative, challenged, and independent.

Our Curriculum

At Saddle Ridge Daycare, the adoption of the Alberta Flight curriculum isn't just a checkbox—it's a philosophy that permeates every aspect of our centre's ethos.

Inspired by Flight's emphasis on meaningful relationships, we prioritize building strong connections between educators, children, and families, creating an environment of trust, empathy, and collaboration.

Our educators embrace the co-constructed nature of learning, seizing upon teachable moments to extend play and exploration, fostering curiosity and critical thinking in our young learners. Through thoughtful reflection and dialogue, we cultivate a shared professional language, ensuring that our practice is rooted in a clear understanding of our values and goals.

Integrating children's everyday experiences with their families and communities, we create rich and immersive learning environments that celebrate diversity and inspire lifelong learning. At Saddle Ridge Daycare, Flight isn't just a curriculum—it's a compass guiding us on a journey of discovery, growth, and endless possibility for every child in our care.

Meal Services

Children grow and develop so quickly, making good nutrition is especially important. A healthy diet provides the energy and essential nutrient that children need for their growth. Our menu considers children’s ages, food regulation, nutritional needs, cultural and religious practices and health needs (allergies).

Note: Saddleridge Daycare is a free-of-nut centre for safety reasons, we ask parents not to provide any kinds of foods with nuts and gums for children.

Daycare Program

Our comprehensive daycare program, spanning across the Pink, Orange, Blue, and Purple rooms, is designed to provide a holistic and enriching experience for children of all ages and developmental stages. Across all rooms, experienced caregivers form strong bonds with each child, creating a supportive and nurturing atmosphere where every child can flourish and reach their full potential.
